We were so honored to be part of such a cool new basement remodel project. 

The homeowner found some pictures we posted of a drop down ceiling in a basement that we had painted flat black. 

This is the exposed ceiling look, kind of like your modern, open feel restaurant or pub that you visit.  

We set an appointment to walk the project which was currently in the midst of construction. We gave them a competitive bid and a reference of another basement we had painted in the same area of town. 

The customer liked that we could meet their tight timeline and gave a very fair price quote. 

We spray painted black the entire exposed ceiling. This product we use is called Dry Fall. It is named so because once sprayed, it quickly dries in the air and lands on the floor as harmless dust. We can easily sweep that up to clean the floor when we are done painting. 

This paint dries in a real deep black and can stick to anything. You will see here we spray painted the wood & steel joists, metal air ducts, plumbing pipes, foil HVAC tubes, electrical wires… everything so that the entire ceiling was a matte black finish. 

We then primed all the new drywall and trim areas. Then two coats of the new color paint the customer had selected looking at some of our digital renderings.  

This customer liked that we can even take photos of bare drywall and open ceilings and show edited pictures of what the new colors will look like on the walls and what the all-black ceiling will end up looking like.  

When it was all complete, we had a fully painted black exposed ceiling, an accent wall that matched that black ceiling color and walls and trim in a soft modern grey. What an awesome basement to watch ballgames with friends and family.

We always walk around and touch up spots we missed in all the basement ceilings nooks and crannies. When we got done, everything was coated black on the ceiling and no bare areas were left exposed. It really looks cool and open when done!
