This project started with a home that had clearly seen better days. The siding and trim were heavily covered in mildew, and years of sun exposure had left the paint completely faded and oxidized. In fact, the surface was so dry that the old paint began washing off during pressure washing!

We knew right away—this one would take some serious prep work to bring it back to life.

Deep Cleaning & Mildew Removal

We began with a thorough exterior cleaning using environmentally friendly solutions to remove chalking, dirt, and grime. Because of the heavy mildew buildup, we also applied a diluted bleach treatment to fully eliminate organic growth.

In the before stage, you could clearly see:

• Grey, spotty mildew growth
• Black streaking and discoloration
• Heavy oxidation across the surface

After a professional power wash, the home was finally clean and ready for proper prep.

Detailed Prep Work (Where the Magic Really Happens)

A long-lasting paint job is all about the prep—and this home needed it all:

• Patched and Repaired all stucco cracks
• Scraped all loose and failing paint
• Applied primer to exposed areas
• Seal-primed due to heavy oxidation
• Caulked all seams, joints, and gaps for a seamless finish

By the time we were done prepping, the surface was smooth, sealed, and ready to hold paint the right way.

A Bold New Look with Lasting Protection

The homeowner chose a slate-based evergreen body color—a rich, modern tone with a subtle gunpowder feel. It’s a color that was trending a few years ago and continues to be a customer favorite.

For the trim, we used a custom white blend:

• A hint of yellow for warmth
• A touch of black to soften brightness

The result? A timeless white that avoids being overly stark or harsh.

One of the biggest differences you’ll notice in the after photos is the beautiful satin sheen.

This finish:
