Spice up your Kitchen

You can read in any magazine or ask a realtor and they will all tell you that the biggest impact you can make on your home is to remodel the kitchen.

I know you are probably thinking that you need to take out a second mortgage to do a nice remodel, but that’s not true. You can get a beautiful “new” kitchen at a fraction of the price of a complete remodel.

First, let’s look at the walls and cabinets. Most cabinets can be painted, creating a fresh look without the price and hassle of replacing cabinets. Cabinet hardware is a quick, easy way to update your look and there are thousands of styles to choose from. You can have your old and dated wood kitchen cabinets painted by a professional with a fresh, new modern color for about 1/16 the cost of replacing them with new cabinets.

Then move on to the walls. If you have outdated wallpaper, have it professionally removed and a clean coat of paint applied that accents the cabinetry. The spicy colors; reds, oranges, rusts and mustards are great colors for kitchens and they stimulate the appetite.

If your countertops and appliances have seen better days you have many options to choose from. Quartz and granite slab are the most expensive and most durable. The choices in tile are almost unlimited. You can choose granite, marble, glass, porcelain and ceramic in a variety of colors and textures that can be mixed and matched. Appliances come in many finishes to compliment your particular room.
